What is Freshteam

And to kick things off, let’s take a closer look at what Freshteam is and what it is all about. So, Freshteam is a dedicated HRM system heavily focused on delivering proper applicant tracking functions, which are further improved by the robust recruitment system. With this focus in mind, the developers made sure that you can effortlessly hire managers, freelancers, recruiters, and other people from niche professions.

Freshteam is being backed by the Freshworks group, meaning that users get a well-balanced, highly polished solution that will continue to be updated as time goes on. At the time of this writing, the system is being used by many well-known companies, including but not limited to Locus, Tiger Analytics, Reaktor, and many more.

What is Lattice

Lattice is perhaps one of the best performance management solutions ever released. It works well in both small and large organizations, but what defines the system is its heavy focus on helping you create a culture of clear and defined expectations. Thanks to its strong employee-centric suite of tools, business owners and HR personnel can easily set realistic goals and help improve employee retention by introducing a robust reward system. 

The tool is constantly being worked on, and new things are introduced frequently. Currently, the system is being used by big-name businesses such as Reddit, Asana, Slack, and many more.

Unique Features

And now the feature set is the most interesting part of the review. As we briefly mentioned, we will cover best the tools that have to offer and try to omit common ones unless they have some interesting function or addition. We will also stick to a set number of three as listing and discussing them all would take forever. Now let’s dive into the functions themselves by looking at the Freshteams suite first.

Hiring Dashboard System

Similar to how dashboards work in other Fresh products, this module allows you to consolidate a ton of information into a single dashboard. But consolidating isn’t the only aspect of this system, it also allows you to take control of the recruitment process. Another cool aspect of the system is that it allows you to view not just individual menus but employee/candidate info too. From age to photo to experience to previous workplaces, it all can be viewed in a holistic fashion.

Postings Management Tools

No human resource system is complete without posting management capabilities. Freshteam allows you to perform a number of operations with your job post. You can access a very robust editing suite from designing the cover to formatting the text to highlighting individual sentences. To sweeten the deal, Freshteam also allows you to post the newly created ad on popular recruitment sites. And if you aren’t the creative type, the system offers a nice selection of pre-made templates that you can modify however you like. Lastly, you can hook certain HR teams to a single vacancy, eliminating any agent collision.

Candidate Sourcing & Screening

This feature is very powerful as it helps you save a lot of time and not sacrifice quality. To put it simply, the system will help aggregate data from across the web about the candidate. Everything from emails to resumes to interaction history to interview scores will be presented on a single screen. Also part of this tool is scheduling and notification. That’s right, the tool will try to recommend you a convenient time to set an interview and will notify you about upcoming events. You can further improve this system by connecting it to popular third-party scheduling systems such as Google Calendar.

Lattice

Efficiency System

Lattice is no stranger when it comes to effective time management. With it, your HR team can create functional work schedules alongside functional workloads. It does this by not only tracking employee performance but their burnout rate. Based on that information, it will create a personalized workload and schedule that you can use to improve the quality of your work. A healthy worker is way more productive so, if your company experiences this problem, Lattice might help you out.

A Streamlined Review System

One of the most important aspects of employee retention is reviews. If your review procedure is complex and in no way fast, you are missing out on a lot of information from your people. Lattice allows you to create a detailed review that will be accompanied by visual information and key objectives. With it, you will maintain transparency among peers and let them know how far they’ve come and what they are missing to reach the next promotion.

Feedback Loop

Employee feedback is just as important as customer feedback. If your employees don’t have a good way to share their concerns and recommendations, you are bound to repeat the same old issues over and over. Lattice allows you to create anonymous (and not) online boxes where both management and workers can share their ideas. No need to wait for annual meetings, start gathering data now.

Integration Options

A good system is able to connect to your existing set of tools and not the other way around. Connecting a new system to your currently used tools will not only help you streamline work but save you a lot of hassle that comes from restructuring. And that is why we are looking into the integration suite.

Generally speaking, both Freshteam and Lattice share a similar integration profile. However, Freshteam has a slight advantage as it can be hooked with other Fresh products, including Freshdesk, Freshservice, and others. So, if you are already using some Fresh tools, you might want to add this functionality to your decision. But if you just need to connect the tool to G-Apps or Slack, Lattice will get the job done just fine. Here’s a full list of integration options available for both platforms:

Vendor Support

If features are the meat of the tool, vendor support is the bone. Good tools come with good support, and in our opinion, they are deeply interconnected. In our case, both systems have a number of options to reach them out so dividing this block into two sections just doesn’t make sense. Instead, we’ll list how you can reach them.

Performance Management

Both Freshteam and Lattice offer robust performance management capabilities, including goal setting, continuous feedback, and performance reviews. However, Lattice also includes 360-degree feedback, which allows employees to receive feedback from multiple sources.

Onboarding

Freshteam includes a comprehensive onboarding module, with features like customizable onboarding checklists, e-signature capabilities, and automated welcome emails. Lattice, on the other hand, does not have a dedicated onboarding module.

Applicant Tracking System (ATS)

Freshteam has a powerful ATS that allows users to post jobs, manage applications, and screen candidates. Lattice does not offer an ATS as part of its platform.

Compensation Management

Both Freshteam and Lattice have basic compensation management features, such as salary benchmarking and tracking employee compensation history. However, Lattice also offers equity management tools, which can be helpful for startups and companies with equity-based compensation plans.

Employee Engagement

Lattice has a strong focus on employee engagement, with features like pulse surveys, employee recognition, and performance coaching. Freshteam also includes some employee engagement features, such as a social feed and employee profiles, but it is not as robust as Lattice in this area.

Integrations

Freshteam integrates with a wide range of third-party tools, including popular HR and payroll software like ADP and Quickbooks. Lattice also offers integrations with popular HR software and tools, but the list is not as extensive as Freshteam.

User Interface

Freshteam has a modern, intuitive user interface that is easy to navigate. Lattice also has a user-friendly interface, but some users may find it less intuitive than Freshteam.

Freshteam is a lot more open but this doesn’t mean that Lattice is bad. If you need communication options, Freshteam is better in this regard.

Technical Details

And now for some technical information. Typically, we discuss things such as OS compatibility, language options, and deployment methods, among other things. Thus, here’s how the two systems look from this particular aspect:

So, as we can see, both tools are quite different in this regard. Freshteam, evidently, is more fleshed out. It has a larger language pool and more devices capable of running the system. Yet, there are similarities between the two, namely in the deployment department. Both are only available over the cloud and this is both a blessing and curse as some businesses would rather prefer an option to host the system themselves.

Pricing Options

After viewing the technical details of each system, it isn’t hard to deduce which of the two is the more expensive solution. In this case, we’ve picked the recommended price plans for each vendor. Here’s how the two stacks against each other.

Turns out they aren’t that different in the pricing department after all. Both systems are offering good value for the money. If you can’t pick the right solution, we suggest that you write down your needs and align them with the offerings.

Migration Solution

So, presumably, you decided to go with one of these systems you’d like to migrate your stuff from your old HR solution to the new one.
